This Omega Constellation Ref. 168.005, produced in 1966, is a stunning example of the “Pie Pan” Dogleg case variant—one of the most iconic and sought-after dress Omega models from the golden age of Swiss watchmaking.

The stainless steel case is in exceptional original condition, with sharp, untouched edges and no signs of polishing. The characteristic faceted “dogleg” lugs retain their crisp geometry, a detail often lost on examples that have been overly refinished. The observatory medallion on the case back remains well defined, with its original textured finish still visible. Surface scratches and small dings are present, but are consistent with the age and the unpolished nature of the piece.

The white-silver pie-pan dial is also in very good condition, with beautiful proportions and contrast. It shows a few small surface bubbles, mostly invisible to the naked eye and exaggerated under studio lighting. The black inlay on the hands and indices replaces the typical lume, a rare and elegant design choice that remains intact and evenly preserved. The hands and indices show light oxidation, adding honest vintage charm without compromising readability.

The watch is fitted with a modern black crocodile strap by Omega, paired with an original vintage Omega steel pin buckle from the correct era.

The plexiglass crystal is Omega-signed, retaining the correct curvature and logo, and the crown is the original Omega octagonal version, correct for this reference.

The case, dial, movement, crystal, buckle, and crown are all signed by Omega, confirming the authenticity of this classic.

This is a textbook Constellation 168.005, combining the rare unpolished case with an excellent dial, correct parts, and vintage character—a standout example for collectors of mid-century Omega.
