Things you should know
This is a Cartier Santos Carrée, reference 2960, originally purchased in 1987 as a Christmas present. The piece is distinguished by its uncommon gunmetal grey dial, a "Ghost" variant that features a minimalist design without the typical railway minute track.
The condition of the steel case points to a history of careful ownership and minimal intervention. Its sharp bevels and defined lines suggest it has only been polished lightly, a crucial detail that has preserved the original factory geometry. The bezel's flat profile remains intact and exhibits faint, superficial scratches. These markings are honest indicators of the watch's age and serve as confirmation that the case has not been excessively refinished, a common fate for many vintage pieces. The engravings on the caseback remain deep and perfectly legible, further attesting to its preserved state.
The dial, the centerpiece of this watch, is in perfect aesthetic condition, as are the original hands. The gunmetal grey surface provides a distinct character to this Santos model. Its status as a service replacement is correctly identified by the "Swiss Made" printing at the 6 o'clock position, as opposed to the single "Swiss".
The watch is fitted on its original steel bracelet, which remains very tight with minimal stretch and features correct matching codes on its segments. Two additional links are provided. The timepiece is offered as a comprehensive full set, including its original box, warranty papers, and booklets. Significantly, it is also accompanied by documentation for a service performed in Milan in 1996. The watch was acquired from the original owner.
Each watch is accompanied by a 1-year mechanical warranty, providing coverage for all its components starting from the date of purchase. Furthermore, prior to being showcased for online sale, every watch undergoes a thorough overhaul by our watchmaker, guaranteeing its optimal condition.
Certainly, the warranty extends specifically to cover wear and tear of the movement. It's important to note that damages resulting from misuse or accidental incidents will not fall under the protection of the warranty.
It's essential to bear in mind that all the watches are over 20 years old. Consequently, while they offer unique charm and character, you should understand that they may not exhibit the same precision as modern watches.
Our utmost priority is your satisfaction with your purchase. Consequently, irrespective of your location, we cover the shipping expenses. While all shipping expenses are covered, duties and import taxes are solely your responsibility.
Every shipment is fully insured and will be delivered through DHL Express or another reputable shipping company with whom we have a partnership, ensuring coverage of the total price of the watch for a secure and reliable shipping experience.
