Things you should know
This is a rare Hamilton "Spider Lugs," dating to circa 1960. The use of a 14k solid yellow gold case suggests this model was likely produced for the American market. Its defining characteristics are its dramatic "spider" lugs and a uniquely finished dial.
The 33mm case is in very good condition. While it has been polished, care was taken to preserve the distinctive original shape and sharp facets of the lugs. The caseback features a vertical satin finish with some minor, barely visible indentations, and is correctly engraved "Hamilton" and "14K Gold." The crown is the gold-plated version, signed with the Hamilton "H" logo. The prominent and stylized lugs give the watch a significant presence on the wrist, making it wear larger than its 33mm diameter would suggest.
The standout feature of this watch is its dial. It is divided into four quadrants with alternating vertical and horizontal satin finishing, creating a dynamic play of light. The layout is in the "Explorer" style, with applied Arabic numerals at 1, 3,6,9 and 12 o'clock, while the other positions feature applied arrowhead markers. Each marker is accompanied by a gold-rimmed lume plot. The lume on both the dial and the hands has aged to a consistent and attractive dark yellow-orange patina. The hands show some light oxidation, which is consistent with the watch's age.
Inside, the watch is powered by the manual-wind Hamilton Caliber 735. It is fitted with an aftermarket black strap and a steel buckle.
Each watch is accompanied by a 1-year mechanical warranty, providing coverage for all its components starting from the date of purchase. Furthermore, prior to being showcased for online sale, every watch undergoes a thorough overhaul by our watchmaker, guaranteeing its optimal condition.
Certainly, the warranty extends specifically to cover wear and tear of the movement. It's important to note that damages resulting from misuse or accidental incidents will not fall under the protection of the warranty.
It's essential to bear in mind that all the watches are over 20 years old. Consequently, while they offer unique charm and character, you should understand that they may not exhibit the same precision as modern watches.
Our utmost priority is your satisfaction with your purchase. Consequently, irrespective of your location, we cover the shipping expenses. While all shipping expenses are covered, duties and import taxes are solely your responsibility.
Every shipment is fully insured and will be delivered through DHL Express or another reputable shipping company with whom we have a partnership, ensuring coverage of the total price of the watch for a secure and reliable shipping experience.
