This Patek Philippe Ellipse Ref. 3648 is an exceptional vintage timepiece, beautifully preserved as a testament to its era from the 1970s. The slim, elegant case remains unpolished, retaining its original finishing as crafted by Patek Philippe. The brushed case back displays its original texture, complemented by a deep and crisp white gold hallmark. Notably, there are a couple of deeper scratches near the case back edge, resulting from previous attempts to open it on the side opposite the crown. Despite this, the case lines remain soft and refined, with light wear that adds character without compromising its charm.
The vibrant blue sunburst dial is a true highlight, presenting itself in pristine condition without any discoloration, stains, or blemishes. Its dynamic light play ensures a striking presence on the wrist. The minimalist baton markers and original slim hands are exceptionally well-preserved, underscoring the elegance of this design. Adding a rare layer of exclusivity, the dial features a double signature with “Trucchi” at 6 o’clock—marking its provenance from the Trucchi boutique in Naples, a historic and still-authorized retailer of Patek Philippe.
The watch is paired with a black crocodile leather strap signed by Patek Philippe. While showing light creasing consistent with its vintage nature, the strap remains wearable, though replacing it is suggested for regular use. The timeless combination of the case, dial, and strap makes this piece a standout for collectors and vintage watch enthusiasts alike.
Adding to its allure, this timepiece is accompanied by its original box, which still bears the Trucchi boutique sticker on the inside, further cementing its historical significance.
