This Cartier Santos Ref. 2960 is a charming example of a well-loved vintage watch in very good condition. Its case has been polished in the past, but the sharp bevels remain intact, showcasing careful handling. The bezel, while showing a mix of superficial and deeper scratches, retains its flat surfaces. We opted to leave it unpolished to avoid the rounding effect that can diminish the watch's character, creating a cleaner and more elegant look on the wrist.
The case back has also been polished, and while the serial number is faint, it remains legible. The crisp engravings on the back are still visible, and the wear on the case back and screws reflects the natural charm of a watch that has been enjoyed for over 40 years. The red cabochon crown is in excellent condition, adding a vibrant touch to the design.
The Burgundy (Bordeaux) dial, an original Cartier service replacement, is distinguishable by its "Swiss Made" signature at 6 o’clock. It is in exceptional condition, paired with well-preserved silvered hands that contrast beautifully with the stainless steel case. This combination enhances the watch’s understated elegance and timeless appeal.
The bracelet is in in good condition, with minimal stretch and wear, and it retains its original finishing. Its overall robustness complements the watch's vintage charm and ensures comfortable wear.
Every key component—the case, movement, dial, and bracelet—carries the Cartier signature, reinforcing the watch’s authenticity and desirability.
