The Condition Report

The Cartier Santos Galbée, reference 2319, is a definitive iteration of the first pilot's watch, featuring the "Galbée" case design which is subtly curved to better contour the wrist. This specific model is sized at 29mm x 41mm, a versatile mid-size dimension that maintains the classic proportions of the Santos lineage while housing a reliable automatic movement.

The watch is presented in excellent aesthetic condition. The steel case and integrated bracelet retain their original geometric lines and sharp transitions between brushed and polished surfaces. While light superficial scratches are present, consistent with careful ownership, the watch shows no significant impacts. The bezel, often prone to wear, remains notably clean. The glass shows a small impact close to 12 o'clock.

The dial is the standout feature of this timepiece, characterized by a refined guilloché finish that radiates a subtle texture. It is adorned with crisp black Roman numerals and the signature Cartier rail-track minute circle. Unlike many examples from this era that exhibit moisture damage or yellowing, this dial remains in perfect condition. It is paired with blue steel "gladius" (sword-shaped) hands, which offer a sharp chromatic contrast to the silvered dial.

The movement is functioning perfectly, and the bracelet remains quite long, accommodating a variety of wrist sizes. This reference 2319 remains a quintessential choice for those seeking the enduring elegance of the Santos design in a robust, automatic configuration.

Performance Log
Upon arrival, every watch is verified for authenticity. The movement is then completely disassembled, and each individual component is cleaned. Once reassembled and lubricated, the timepiece undergoes a rigorous 72-hour test in all dynamic positions.

The technical values listed below are merely a snapshot recorded in the "Dial Up" position. Variations in amplitude or rate compared to modern standards are physiological for vintage timepieces.

Furthermore, strictly adhering to our philosophy of preservation, we prioritize retaining original components whenever possible, even if this results in slightly lower performance metrics, provided they do not compromise the reliability and correct functioning of the timepiece.
