The Condition Report

This is a Cartier Santos Octagon, reference 2965, presented in an unpolished condition. The stainless steel case retains its original factory geometry, characterized by sharp lugs and well-defined bevels. The caseback features deep, crisp engravings along with the intact original red enamel paint, serving as a direct indicator of the watch's unpolished state. Signs of wear are present, including general surface scratches and minor dings on the bracelet, case, and bezel, with two specific small indentations located at the 4 and 7 o'clock positions. These imperfections are consistent with regular use and substantiate the unpolished nature of the metal.

The white dial is in flawless condition, showing no signs of aging, yellowing, or spidering. It features traditional black Roman numerals that provide a sharp contrast against the dial surface. The time is displayed via original blued steel sword-shaped hands, which remain in excellent condition.

The watch is equipped with its integrated bracelet featuring a hidden double deployant clasp. The bracelet exhibits excellent structural integrity with virtually no stretch and is sized generously to accommodate wrists up to approximately 18.5 cm.

Performance Log
Upon arrival, every watch is verified for authenticity. The movement is then completely disassembled, and each individual component is cleaned. Once reassembled and lubricated, the timepiece undergoes a rigorous 72-hour test in all dynamic positions.

The technical values listed below are merely a snapshot recorded in the "Dial Up" position. Variations in amplitude or rate compared to modern standards are physiological for vintage timepieces.

Furthermore, strictly adhering to our philosophy of preservation, we prioritize retaining original components whenever possible, even if this results in slightly lower performance metrics, provided they do not compromise the reliability and correct functioning of the timepiece.
