Things you should know
This Universal Genève is presented in pristine and excellent condition. The case exhibits sharp contours with no indications of polishing, showcasing nicely curved edges. The original brushed finish on the caseback remains intact, featuring legible engravings and serial numbers. Although the screw in the bottom right corner is not original to the watch, it fits perfectly.
The dial and hands are equally impressive, displaying no signs of oxidation. The malachite dial is nearly flawless, with only a couple of chips near the base of the hands where they attach to the pinion of the movement, visible only under magnification. The vivid white lettering on the dial adds to its visual appeal. A minor issue is that the feet of the dial were not perfectly straightened to avoid damaging the stone dial, causing the "U" logo to be slightly rotated clockwise by a few degrees, though this is not highly noticeable.
The original strap shows no signs of wear and still bears the gold "Universal Genève" signature inside, and the buckle is original as well.
The Universal Genève signature is prominently displayed on the case, dial, and bracelet, affirming its authenticity. The crystal is remarkably free of scratches, contributing to the overall allure of this exquisite timepiece.
