The timepiece is in excellent vintage condition, maintaining its originality throughout. The case exhibits no signs of polishing, preserving its pristine appearance. However, superficial scratches are evident on the case back. Despite this, the internal elements of the caseback such as the reference number, serial number, and brand logo remain impeccably visible.
Over time, the dial has developed a subtle cream patina, enhancing its vintage appeal, while the numerals retain their rich black coloration. Light stains and scratches encircle the dial, yet they do not significantly affect its readability or the integrity of the tachymeter scale.
The vibrant colors of the dial, particularly the red and blue hues, have endured remarkably well. The tritium-coated hands and numerals boast a captivating orange tint and remain in superb condition. Although the hands exhibit expected oxidation from its 70-year lifespan, the blue coloration still shines under the light.
Notably, this Wittnauer houses a remarkable Valjoux 72 movement, akin to the one found in the iconic Daytona 6234.
It's important to mention that all key components, including the case, dial, movement, and crown, bear the distinctive signatures of Wittnauer, further affirming its authenticity and pedigree.
