The Condition Report

This Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso "Shadow", reference 251.8.86, dating from circa 1990, is a striking and slightly more contemporary take on the classic reversible icon. The "Shadow" series is known for its high-contrast aesthetic and monochromatic charm.

The watch is in excellent aesthetic condition. The stainless steel case shows some light surface scratches, but nothing deep or distracting, maintaining its elegant rectangular silhouette. It is important to note that the engravings on the caseback (reference and serial numbers) were originally quite shallow on this model. Due to a previous polish, they are not easily visible in photographs and can only be discerned in person under specific lighting conditions.

The dial is particularly captivating; under certain light, it takes on a two-tone appearance that contrasts beautifully with the steel case. The sword-shaped hands and the dial luminous plots are a perfect match, showing the beginnings of a warm, vintage yellowing while remaining vibrant and clear.

The watch is fitted with a brand-new aftermarket black leather strap, though it retains its original Jaeger-LeCoultre pin buckle. This Reverso comes as a comprehensive set including its original blue box and outer box, alongside official service receipts from a Jaeger-LeCoultre maintenance carried out in 2008.

Performance Log
Upon arrival, every watch is verified for authenticity. The movement is then completely disassembled, and each individual component is cleaned. Once reassembled and lubricated, the timepiece undergoes a rigorous 72-hour test in all dynamic positions.

The technical values listed below are merely a snapshot recorded in the "Dial Up" position. Variations in amplitude or rate compared to modern standards are physiological for vintage timepieces.

Furthermore, strictly adhering to our philosophy of preservation, we prioritize retaining original components whenever possible, even if this results in slightly lower performance metrics, provided they do not compromise the reliability and correct functioning of the timepiece.
