Things you should know
This Patek Philippe Ellipse Ref. 4172 stands out for its double-signed Haussmann & Co. dial, adding historical value and rarity. The 18k yellow gold case is in excellent shape, with thick lugs and well-preserved original finishing. Some surface marks are present, notably opposite the crown, and more pronounced on the case back, where the 18k hallmark is faintly visible.
The gold sunburst dial is in great condition, with minimal oxidation on the indices and slight patina on the hands. The blue outer ring has characteristic golden lightning-like veins between 9 and 12 o’clock, a known aging trait of these dials.
A small detail to note: the dial is slightly rotated counterclockwise by a few degrees, noticeable in macro photos but imperceptible when worn.
The sapphire crystal is free of major scratches. The manual Caliber 16-250 runs reliably.
The watch comes with a leather strap and its original 18k yellow gold Patek Philippe-signed buckle. The original box is included, but no warranty papers.
With its rare double signature, unique patina, and strong case condition, this is a standout piece for collectors of vintage Patek Philippe watches.
